Cancer Care Alberta (CCA), in partnership and conjunction with the Departments of Oncology and Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invites applications for two full-time clinical Hematologists specializing in hematological malignancies, that includes an interest in acute leukemias (AML, ALL), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established multidisciplinary team at the Arthur J.E. Comprehensive Cancer Centre (ACCC), a leading academic cancer centre in Calgary, Alberta. Role Summary: Successful candidates will: - Provide specialized leukemia care and support advanced clinical programs. - Contribute to clinical education and academic research. - Be eligible for an academic appointment with the Department of Oncology, University of Calgary, which will be supported by the Medical Leadership and will be commensurate with the candidates’ academic experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with hematologic malignancies, focusing on leukemia (AML, ALL), MDS, and MPNs. - Participate in local and provincial tumor group activities, leukemia case reviews, and multidisciplinary rounds. - Collaborate with colleagues in bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, hematopathology, infectious disease, and supportive care. - Contribute to the development of clinical programs, protocol implementation, and quality improvement initiatives in the malignant hematology and leukemia service. - Participate in the malignant hematology on-call rotation. - Participate in clinical research including clinical trials, health services research, and/or academic quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications - MD with certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology (or equivalent). - Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). - Training and/or extensive experience in hematologic malignancies, with a focus on leukemia care. - Additional specialized training in myeloid disorders would be considered an asset - Demonstrated commitment to high-quality clinical care and collaborative practice. - Proven record/ strong potential for clinical research, leadership, or educational contributions.
Remuneration will depend on clinical experience and comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Medical Association. Compensation Grid Compensation range is between Level 1 $416,192 per annum to Level 3 $531,341 per annum. Medical Oncologists may be either AHS employees or independent contractors. Additional support from Cancer Care Alberta: CCA provides a recruitment support that includes the following conditional on leadership approval: 1. Relocation Support: up to $18,500 for recruits within North America and up to $25,000 for recruits outside North America. 2. AHS Sponsorship Support if required. 3.
