Mental Health, Recovery Alberta is inviting applications for the Site Chief South Health Campus. The candidate shall provide services at South Health Campus (SHC) which includes U56B, ER, Day Hospital and Outpatient Mental Health. Ensure the Psychiatrists at the site are following the current mandates and direction of the Department and delivering optimized Psychiatric care to all the services offered at SHC. Working from South Health Campus you will support the medical leadership of 18 FTE Psychiatrists at the site. You will meet regularly with the Director for Addictions and Mental Health, Adult South East, Calgary Zone on issues related to clinical services at the SHC. A. SERVICE DELIVERY 1. Coordinate psychiatric clinical services for Inpatient, Consulta?? on-Liaison, Emergency, and Outpatient Services at their designated acute care site. 2. Establish, review, and revise policies, procedures and guidelines relating to patient care. 3. Participate in the strategic and operational planning 4. Facilitate the implementation of protocols to improve access and ?ow. 5. Implement and evaluate ongoing and new patient care services within the framework of the mission and philosophy of Alberta Health Services and in conjunction with the University of Calgary, where appropriate. 6. Support the recruitment and periodic reviews of Psychiatrists at the SHC site. B. ADMINISTRATION 1. Chair monthly site meetings to discuss matters pertinent to the site, as well as monthly leadership meetings within the Calgary Sector. 2. In collaboration with the Clinical Medical Directors, establish and periodically update any policies and procedures relating to the operation of the Section consistent with the AHS and U of C mission, roles and goals 3. Provide, at the request of the Department Head, such materials from the South Health Campus as is required for reports 4. Responsible for planning, hiring and coordinate the performance review process for Inpatient section psychiatrists, Consultation-Liaison, and Emergency psychiatrists along with the Clinical Medical Directors at South Health Campus. 5. Represent the South Health Campus at Departmental and University committees as required. 6. Attend Department of Psychiatry executive meetings and executive management team meetings 7. Facilitate open and effective communication between the South Health Campus and the Department of Psychiatry and other disciplines and departments 8. Work collaboratively with Clinical Medical Directors responsible for service delivery for psychiatric inpatient, consultation-liaison and emergency programs across at the South Health Campus. C. EDUCATION 1. Actively support processes to ensure high-quality medical education is provided for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education students in accordance with the requirements of the University of Calgary, Faculty of Medicine D. Qualifications: Psychiatrist / Practitioner who currently has Recovery Alberta appointment. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
