How do I apply for a job?

To Apply online, simply open a posted opportunity and click on ‘Apply’. By clicking the ‘Apply’ button, you will be redirected to Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) DrJobsAB website. Through the DrJobsAB website, you can complete an online job profile and upload your Cover Letter/CV to submit to AHS.

I applied on competition # xxxx. How long does it take to receive a response for an interview?

After the competition is closed, all applications are forwarded to the hiring manager for review. This review can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2months. However, it may take more or less time depending on the number of applicants and other recruitment circumstances.

Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

How do I add a job posting to the website?

This website is operated by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the physician positions posted on this site are primarily postings that will require an AHS Medical Staff Appointment. If you are interested in posting a community clinic position that will require AHS sponsorship, please visit: http://www.doctorjobsalberta.com/clinics.aspx.

If you are interested in posting a community clinic position that will NOT require AHS sponsorship, please contact: DrJobs.AB@ahs.ca and your request will be reviewed.

Recruitment Fraud Warning

Recent incidents of recruitment fraud have been reported and brought to the attention of Alberta Health Services and our IT Security & Compliance team. Please be aware that Alberta Health Services never requests fees, endorses training through third-parties or directly hires applicants without a screening process. These are not legitimate Alberta Health Services job offers and are fraudulent. If you receive a job offer that involves the payment of fees or offers free food and accommodation, it is a scam and you are asked to contact: securityincident@albertahealthservices.ca

Signs of Recruitment Fraud

  • Alberta Health Services emails always end in “@albertahealthservices.ca”, “@doctorjobsalberta.com” or “albertahealthservices@hrsmart.com”. Any message styled to look like it was sent from an Alberta hospital or facility using a different format is not authentic.
  • Contact information in the form of a mobile phone number or an address outside of Alberta is not an Alberta Health Services office.
  • You are instructed to pay money to secure employment.
  • There is an insistence on urgency and repeated contact from the sender.

What should I do?

If you receive this type of email, please treat the message as fraudulent and forward it to Alberta Health Services at: securityincident@albertahealthservices.ca.

Please include the message you received from the sender in your email.
