Position Description: The Section of Newborn Critical Care, Department Pediatrics, invites applications for a part-time 0.1 FTE position as the NICU Site Lead at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC), within Alberta Health Services - Calgary Corridor. This position reports to the Corridor Clinical Section Lead of Newborn Critical Care, and ultimately to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead, Pediatrics. The PLC NICU Site Lead is responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU Site Lead shall assist and collaborate with the Corridor Clinical Section Lead to fulfill duties and responsibilities of the Corridor Clinical Department Lead as applicable to the Section. Patient Care: 1. Position Description: The Department of Pediatrics (DoP), invite applicants to apply to a 1.0 FTE Locum AMHSP Pediatric Neurologist position, with subspecialty interest and training in epilepsy. The position is part of the Section of Pediatric Neurology at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, within Alberta Health Services, Calgary Corridor. This position involves a primary commitment of 70% to clinical activity with expectations that the successful candidate will also contribute broadly to the academic and educational activities of the Section. The relative contributions to academics and education that comprise the remaining 30% of the position will be allocated based on the successful candidate’s goals and interests in alignment with opportunities and needs within the Section. This position involves a commitment to clinical activity comprised of general neurology in-patient coverage (Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 daily), as well as staffing out-patient clinics (new referrals and follow-ups from service with a variety of neurological conditions). As the priority for this position is to focus in epilepsy, the position will also entail contribution to the long-term monitoring (LTM) service, which includes admission of patients for event clarification and epilepsy surgery work-up, as well as reading routine, and ambulatory EEGs. As such, the ability to read and report EEGs (routine, ambulatory, and LTM for surgical evaluations) is a high requirement. The position also comes with a concomitant and expectation to contribute to on-call services provided by the Section of Pediatric Neurology to ensure 24/7 access to qualified expertise. The successful candidate will join a team of 7 laboratory physicians and is required to have excellent skills in surgical pathology and cytopathology. Additional expertise in hematopathology will be considered favorably. CRH is a 280-bed acute care facility and provides a comprehensive service for most specialties and has an onsite cancer centre. Duties include anatomical pathology, bone marrows, and laboratory management; the provision of 1:7 on call coverage, intradepartmental and interdepartmental consultations, and frozen section. APL is a multi-site, province-wide laboratory organization providing comprehensive laboratory services and is an independent, but publicly funded, wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS). CRH collaborates closely with APL in Calgary which serves as a specialized tertiary referral centre. The Chinook Regional Hospital, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has sections of anatomical pathology (including surgical pathology and cytology), hematology, transfusion medicine, biochemistry and microbiology and most testing is performed onsite in Lethbridge. Comprehensive onsite immunohistochemistry is available; 22,000 surgical specimens, 2,600 non-gynecologic cytology specimens and 190 bone marrow biopsy specimens are processed annually. The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone and the University of Calgary invite applications for a Vascular Surgeon at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Qualifications include an MD and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Vascular Surgery. Our teams are committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care throughout the continuum of hospitalization—from initial assessment in the Emergency Department to inpatient management and coordination of post acute care. They will be expected to perform cardiac rhythm procedures 0.5–1 days per week and be in clinic one-half day per week. They will serve on one of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Inpatient Clinical Services (there are two based at Foothills) for 4–6 weeks per year. They will be on call for the Cardiac Electrophysiology Service 4-6 weeks per year. They will follow patients through the Calgary Cardiac Implantable Electrical Device Clinic and will have a general arrhythmia clinic. It is likely that their clinics will be at South Health Campus and Foothills Medical Centre. In addition, the physician will have advanced subspecialty expertise in Cardiac MRI to integrate in providing ventricular arrhythmia care and familiarity with invasive CMR procedures. As well as research experience in working with animal models for ventricular arrhythmias to develop a translational research program. The individual will contribute to the education of medical students (on the wards and in the research lab), as well as Medicine/Cardiology Residents and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows. The individual will have research interests in animal modeling, ventricular arrhythmia imaging, and EP translational work. We’re passionate about what we do. This 0.15 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Associate Corridor Medical Lead (ACML), Child Health Hospital Expansion, Ambulatory, and Department: Child Health and Hospital Medical Director, Stollery Children's Hospital (STO). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available. The Physician Lead – Edmonton Corridor (EC) Ambulatory Optimization provides clinical leadership to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and accessibility of subspecialty ambulatory care across the Edmonton Corridor. The role supports the implementation of AHS subspecialty ambulatory optimization initiatives and the EC ambulatory care service plan, with a focus on ensuring patients can access the right specialty services in the most appropriate way. This position works closely with specialty programs, primary care, and operational partners to streamline care pathways, strengthen transitions between primary and specialty care, and reduce avoidable emergency visits and hospital admissions.
