The individual will serve as a fee for service Cardiac Electrophysiologist. They will be expected to perform cardiac rhythm procedures 1 days per week and be in clinic two-half days per week. They will serve on one of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Inpatient/Consult Clinical Services (there are two based at Foothills) for approximately 6 weeks per year. They will be on call for the Cardiac Electrophysiology Service 3–4 weeks per year. They will follow patients through the Calgary Zone Cardiac Implantable Electrical Device Clinic and will have a general arrhythmia clinic. It is likely that their clinics will take place at South Health Campus. The individual will work to set up a specialized tertiary/quaternary level program in ablations of cardiac scar-related ventricular tachycardia. The individual will contribute to the education of medical students (on the wards and in the research lab), as well as Medicine/Cardiology Residents and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows.

This position will provide call group coverage (including days, evenings, nights, and weekends) with the Northwest Maternity Group and the Foothills Medical Centre. The successful physician must be able to fill the scheduling requirements of 3 hospital shifts per month (minimum), and 3 clinic shifts per month (minimum), and will integrate seamlessly into a multidisciplinary team environment including licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs). The Foothills Medical Centre is an important training facility for residents and students, being affiliated with the University of Calgary. As such, the successful candidate will also be required to apply for a Clinical Academic Appointment in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Calgary to play a critical role in supporting this valuable program. Responsibilities/Duties: Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Hospital Medical Director (FMD) - Strathcona Community Hospital (STCH). This 0.15 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Associate Corridor Medical Lead (ACML), Suburban Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available. The Hospital Medical Director (HMD) provides strategic leadership and oversight of physicians and clinical services at STCH within the Edmonton Corridor. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the daily operations of the physician team and ensuring high-quality clinical performance. - Monitoring quality indicators, performance metrics, and supporting continuous improvement. - Collaborating with teams across the Edmonton Corridor to ensure alignment and integration of services. - Engaging with the Sherwood Park PCN and other relevant Edmonton-area PCNs to support coordinated care. - Ensuring best practices from the corridor are effectively adapted to the suburban environment. - Working in partnership with the Site Director. The position has an expected term of 3 years.
