Alberta Health Services (AHS), South Zone, invites expressions of interest for the role of Community Medical Director Taber at the Taber Health Centre. This 0.15 FTE position, governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports directly to the Associate Zone Medical Director (AZMD), Rural East. The CMD -Taber is a medical leadership role governed by the Medical Staff Rules and is the most senior medical administrative leader of the community, and any facilities within the community. Key Responsibilities include: • Establish and chair site Department meetings; • Meet with your operational dyad (site manager) and AZMD regularly; • Periodic reviews for Zone Clinical Department members (every 3 years, or annual for staff > 65 year old) at request of Zone Medical Director; • Probationary Assessments for all new active members of the medical staff within clinical department of responsibility; • Ensuring on call coverage and managing issues that arise; • Participate in Zone and Provincial work as designated by the Associate Zone Medical Director, or Zone Medical Director; • Identify need for and manage recruitment together with Zone Medical Affairs; • Practitioner workforce planning in collaboration with Zone Medical Affairs; • Represent the facility positively to external stakeholders; • Promoting and representing the activities of the Zone Clinical Department.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and have a passion for quality and patient safety. The successful applicant will also be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the community and community facility. Candidates must possess the relevant certification/specialization, be eligible to work in Canada/Alberta; hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.
Remuneration is in accordance with AHS contractor agreements.
