The Department of Pediatrics (DoP), invite applicants to apply to this 1.0 FTE, AMHSP position at the Alberta Children’s hospital, within Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone. This position reports to the Section of Adolescent Medicine. This 1.0 FTE, AMHSP Adolescent Medicine Specialist, will work in all areas of Adolescent Medicine. The position will provide 80% clinical time, (368 half days) in Ambulatory clinics; Eating Disorders, Youth Health Program, Somatic Rehabilitation Clinic, Metta Clinic, and COPE. The remaining time, 10% research and 10% education will consist of 46 half days/year. Consultation Service Coverage is 4 months/year (83 days). Due to variability of the inpatient consultation service, this position will provide 83 clinical days between ambulatory clinics and service to provide 166 half days of service with concurrent clinics. Ambulatory Clinics will be 170 half day clinics (5 hours each) per year without concurrent consultative service, with trainees or without trainees; this is in addition to clinics while on consultation service. Indirect/Other Patient Care will include activities such as clinic preparation/operation meetings, unanticipated patient visits, indirect patient care activities occurring on non-clinic days, care planning, telephone consultation. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and have a Royal College Physician and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, or in good standing with a subspeciality training program that will be eligible to apply for RCPSC Subspeciality Certification in Adolescent Medicine. Must read, write, and speak English. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
Remuneration is in agreement with AHS contractor agreements
