Alberta Health Services, South Zone, and the Department of General Internal Medicine at the Chinook Regional Hospital invites applications for a LOCUM General Internal Medicine Physician to establish a full-time practice in the community of Lethbridge. This position will provide services to Community Clinic, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, Emergency Consults, and Specialist On-Call Coverage. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION Responsibilities include but not limited to: - Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Lethbridge/; - Establish and maintain full time practice within the community; - Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services; - Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full time participation in the General Internal Medicine call schedule, as required. - Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies; - Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine; - Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; - Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned; - Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care The following dates require LOCUM coverage: - January 25 - January 31, 2025 - March 1 - March 7, 2025 - April 5 - April 11, 2025 - May 10 - May 16, 2025 - June 14 - June 20, 2025
Required Qualifications: - Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application); - Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC); - Have specialty certification or equivalent in Gastroenterology, or currently be enrolled in a Gastroenterology Residency Program; - Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as the Most Responsible Physician; - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Desired Qualifications: All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we thank all applicants for their interest; only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
