(This Posting is only open for Internal Candidates) Description: Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Pediatric Cardiac Surgery - Stollery Children's Hospital / Mazankowski Heart Institute (STO/MAHI). This 0.10 FTE position reports directly to the Edmonton Zone Clinical Department Head, Cardiac Sciences, Associate Zone Medical Director, Child Health and Ambulatory & Facility Medical Director, Stollery Children’s Hospital, and Facility Medical Director - University of Alberta Hospital / Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute / Kaye Edmonton Clinic. The ZCSC, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery will facilitate the Clinical Program Oversight and Patient Care Quality and Innovation in EZ Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. They will also assist with process and policy development and implementation to enhance patient care at the site in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, working with the facility site and zone leadership. This position will also review and recommend privileges for physicians and evaluate the performance of medical staff working within the Department. The position has an expected start date of approximately April 1, 2025, and an expected term of 3 years.

The successful candidate will possess superior interpersonal skills, have demonstrated supervisory experience and be an excellent clinician with the respect of their peers. Candidates must possess a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPSC) fellowship, or equivalent designation, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
