This position is a COMMUNITY position and is NOT part of Alberta Health Services. Job Description: - Responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin-related conditions, from minor irritations to severe diseases like melanoma. They manage both cosmetic and medical concerns and work with patients to maintain skin health and appearance. - Evaluate and diagnose skin, hair, and nail disorders, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, fungal infections, and skin cancer. - Perform physical exams and use advanced diagnostic tools to assess conditions. - Consult patients on improving skin appearance, including scar treatment and anti-aging procedures.
Qualifications: - Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA - Education: Medical degree with a specialization in dermatology. - Licensing: Board certification in dermatology and a valid CPSA accreditation. - Skills: Strong knowledge of dermatological conditions and treatments. - Excellent communication and patient care skills. - Proficiency in dermatological procedures and surgeries like biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and laser treatments. - Treatment and Management: Prescribe medications, topical treatments, and lifestyle changes to address skin conditions. - Provide guidance on skincare routines, sun protection, and managing chronic conditions. - Attention to detail and ability to make accurate diagnoses. - Conduct minor surgical procedures, including the removal of skin growths, moles, cysts, and skin cancers. - Work with a team to provide comprehensive treatment for conditions requiring surgery.
