The Departments of Surgery and Oncology at Alberta Health Services - Calgary Zone, in partnership with The Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute, invite applications for a Breast Oncology Surgeon. The successful applicant will have their primary appointment in the Department of Surgery with a joint appointment in the Department of Oncology.
The candidate will join a 1 9-member division of General Surgery at the Foothills Medical Centre, an 1100+ inpatient tertiary care academic hospital and the adjacent Arthur JE Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre with a dedicated multidisciplinary Breast C linic. The Centre deliver s world class cancer care in a state-of-the-art facility, inclusive of research infrastructure. Membership in Strategies for Precision Health in Breast Cancer (SPHERE) under the umbrella of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute expected and will provide dedicated research support in the area of Health Services Research. The candidate will have full time breast surgery practice at the Arthur Child Breast Clinic a nd will include Acute Care Surgery with equivalent night-time coverage and e lective OR ti me as per divisional roster. Qualifications include an MD, be an active or be eligible to be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in General Surgery, with clinical fellowship training in Breast Surgery/Surgical Oncology and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. The successful candidate is expected to hold a research focused degree ( Masters or PhD) or equivalent experience in health services research. Contributions to trainee supervision, mentorship and teaching will be expected.
