Position Description: The Department of Pediatrics (DoP), invite applicants to apply to this Fee for Service position at the Alberta Children’s hospital and the South Health Campus, Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). The section has 1.5 FTE for this role and will be recruiting multiple applicants. The anticipated start date for these positions is July 1, 2026. The physician will provide clinical care in the emergency departments (ED) at the Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) and South Health Campus (SHC). The physician will also be expected to: • provide clinical/bedside teaching while on shift in the ED to a broad variety of trainees including PEM fellows, residents in Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine, off service residents, and clinical clerks in the University of Calgary Undergraduate Medical Program • assist in the evaluation of all of the trainees they work with on shift • engage in non-clinical teaching activities (eg SIM sessions, academic half-day teaching, and PEM rounds) • make meaningful contributions to the Section of PEM depending on their skillset and interests (eg bedside ultrasound, committees and leadership opportunities within the Section and Department of Pediatrics, information technology, research) For more information regarding this position, please contact: Dr. Tania Principi, Section Head, Pediatric Emergency Medicine (Tania.Principi@ahs.ca) Interested applicants should apply through the website portal and include the following attachments with their application: • Cover letter • Curriculum vitae • The names and contact information for three referees. • All interviewed applicants will require three letters of reference to be sent to: Dr. Tania Principi, Section Head, PEM: Tania.Principi@ahs.ca We’re passionate about what we do. Qualifications: Qualifications include an MD or equivalent, certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics and/or Emergency Medicine, or equivalent certification from another professional association, and the completion of a fellowship in PEM. Candidates must be eligible for an Independent Practice Permit from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and for medical staff privileges from Alberta Health Services Must read, write, and speak English.
