Recovery Alberta is inviting applications for a General Psychiatrist Visting Specialist to join the North Zone and offer periodic in-person Psychiatry – Mental Health services, to patients in and surrounding the community of Redwater, Alberta. This position will offer services in General Psychiatry, with a focus on offering Brain Injury services. This position will require the selected candidate to sign a Visiting Specialist contract rendering their services 12 times per year (2-3 days per visit), not exceeding 30 days in a calendar year. Duties include but are not limited to: - Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the services mentioned. - Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies. Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
- Hold an Alberta Practice Permit to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application). - Hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC). - Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as Most Responsible Physician. Fee for Service Through the Outreach and Travelling Physician Support Policy Visiting Specialists are eligible for monetary supports: The outreach financial incentive, at a minimum, requires one way travel greater than 50kms, and pays at $1/kms up to a maximum 500kms one way. Zonal Medical Affairs will calculate payments using a round-trip amount on a monthly basis. For approved outreach service requests AHS will remunerate mileage/car rentals/taxis, meals, flights and accommodation in keeping with the AHS Travel Policy.
