Covenant Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Locum Pulmonary Consultant to join our team at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The successful candidate will: · Serve primarily as a Pulmonary Consultant at GNCH. · Hold admitting privileges and perform invasive procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Pleurx catheter insertion at the hospital. · The candidate may be requested to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta (a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry). Medical learners do not commonly do pulmonary consultation at this site. · Provide adequate outpatient follow up for any patients seen in hospital who require ongoing Pulmonary follow up · The physician will participate equally in the Pulmonary call schedule, with an estimated 5-7 weeks of consulting service per 6 months
Required: · MD or equivalent. · Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. · Certification in Respirology/Pulmonary Medicine (or equivalent) · Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety · Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment. · Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
