The Marshall Eliuk Peace River Community Health Centre is seeking a Gastroenterologist Visiting Specialist to provide services alongside the local physicians, to provide on-site endoscopy service. The ideal candidate will travel to Peace River 4 times per month, 1 day per visit to see gastroenterology patients wait-listed for endoscopy. Duties include but not limited to: - Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services. - Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
- Current Alberta Practice Permit to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application). - Have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC). - Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as Most Responsible Physician. Fee for Service Through the Outreach and Travelling Physician Support Policy Visiting Specialists are eligible for monetary supports: The outreach financial incentive, at a minimum, requires one way travel greater than 50kms, and pays at $1/kms up to a maximum 500kms one way. Zonal Medical Affairs will calculate payments using a round-trip amount on a monthly basis. For approved outreach service requests AHS will remunerate mileage/car rentals/taxis, meals, flights and accommodation in keeping with the AHS Travel Policy.
