Alberta Health Services – North Zone, and the Department of Women's Health at the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre, are currently looking for an OBGYN Specialist to join their current team of Family Medicine physicians and establish a full-time practice in the community of Bonnyville. This position will provide services in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a key primary focus on Gynecology consults and procedures. The ideal candidate may also provide services in High Risk Obstetrics consults with occasional procedure coverage, for vacation relief. The successful candidate is required to offer services within the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre and out of a community-based Specialty practice, within the community of Bonnyville. The candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process. Duties include but not limited to: •Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Bonnyville. •Establish and maintain full-time community-based practice within the community. •Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services. •Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including occasional participation in the Obstetrics call schedule, as required. •Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies. •Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Women's Health. •Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs. •Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned. •Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
Must be eligible to practice as an OB/Gyne Specialist per CPSA Standards - required Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada - required Fellowship or equivalent - desired Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - desired Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) - desired Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) - desired Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM) - desired Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB) - desired Additional qualifications: Low Risk Obstetrics High Risk Obstetrics Candidate must have hands on experience offering OBGYN services as the sole provider within the past 1-2 years.
