Description: The Hospitalist groups at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Foothills Medical Centre, Rockyview General Hospital, and South Health Campus are seeking locum hospitalists to support clinical services across all four acute care sites. Our teams are committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care throughout the continuum of hospitalization—from initial assessment in the Emergency Department to inpatient management and coordination of post acute care. Hospitalists are responsible for ordering investigations and treatments, collaborating with specialty services and primary care providers, and navigating the complex interplay of medical, mental health, addiction, and social factors affecting patient care. Advocacy at both the patient and system level is an integral component of this role. We are looking for clinicians who are adaptable, receptive to feedback, and engaged in continuous improvement. Successful applicants will participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to non clinical activities, including business meetings, educational sessions, and team events. Locum opportunities are available starting April 1, 2026. These positions do not involve regularly scheduled shifts; instead, we are seeking physicians interested in flexible, intermittent locum work. Locum assignments will support coverage during physician vacation, parental leave, or other absences. Workload will vary and may total up to approximately 1.0 FTE. A probationary period applies to this position. Time Requirement: Up to 1.0 Clinical FTE may be anticipated. This may include up to 1–2-night shifts per week, as well as evening and weekend work, variable depending on schedule. Successful candidates may also be expected to round daily and act as most responsible physician for a group of admitted hospital patients. We’re passionate about what we do. Qualifications: -Eligible for licensure and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and CMPA, as a Family Physician. -Eligible for privileges within the Department of Family Medicine, Alberta Health Services -Clinical excellence in the described role, with previous inpatient experience being an asset -Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills -Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team setting to create patient focused solutions -Exhibits leadership skills and potential -Desire to participate and contribute to quality improvement activities -Will be required to attend an interview either in person or virtually with site leadership -We thank all applicants for their interest, only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
