The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to join the group of radiologists servicing the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. Basic interventional services, basic nuclear medicine and echo is desired but not required. The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) opened December 4, 2021 and includes new imaging equipment such as new MRI, and two new 128 slice CT scanners. The new hospital also includes radiation therapy services, further increasing the capacity to provide services to the people of Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern BC. GPRH is a regional hospital with a busy emergency department, ICU, Level II NICU and specialty services in OB/GYN, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, urology, palliative care, pediatrics, psychiatry and Cancer Care. The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre is one of four Regional Cancer Centres within Cancer Care Alberta’s Community Oncology portfolio. Radiology services include ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, MRI, diagnostic mammography/tomosynthesis, general radiography, and basic interventional services (CT, US and Mammography guided procedures). Duties include but not limited to: - Reside in and have as his/her primary residence, Grande Prairie - Provide hospital imaging interpretation and procedures, and call assistance, including full time participation in the Radiology on-call schedules for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital - Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities - Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned Community Information: GRANDE PRAIRIE: Located about 450 kilometers northwest of Edmonton, and about the same distance north of Jasper National Park, Grande Prairie offers the best of both worlds - big city amenities without losing the comfort of a smaller community and close proximity to outstanding wilderness areas.
