Alberta Health Services – North Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician a full-time/part-time Family Medicine with Anesthesia practice in the community of COMMUNITY. This position will provide services: Anesthesia services (including epidurals), Community Clinic, Emergency Room Coverage, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, Long Term Care. Alberta Health Services – Northwest Corridor is actively recruiting a full-time Family Medicine Physician with a diploma in Anesthesia (or equivalency) in the community of Peace River. This position will provide services in Anesthesia (including epidurals), Community Clinic, Emergency Room Coverage, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, and Long Term Care. The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process. Responsibilities include but not limited to: - Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Peace River - Establish and maintain full time community-based practice within the community; - Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services; - Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including but not limited to, fair and equitable participation in the Anesthesia and Emergency Department call schedules, as required; - Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies; - Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine; - Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; - Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned; - Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care Community Information: Peace River is a vibrant town in the heart of northwest Alberta. Required Qualifications: - Current Alberta Practice Permit or valid CPSA Letter of Eligibility to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application). - Recent and relevant experience within the past 2 years in all areas of practice required, as the sole provider; including Emergency - Sole provider of Anesthesia services (Diploma required, with a minimum of six months pre & post diploma experience) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) - Pediatric Life Support (PALS); - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Desired Qualifications - College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) - College of Family Physicians of Canada – Family Practice Anesthesia (CCFP-FPA) - If practice includes Obstetrics: Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB) / Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM) All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we thank all applicants for their interest; only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted. Compensation for this opportunity is based on a fee-for-service model and may include additional program stipends. The average gross income of a Family Medicine Physician in Alberta is $300,000 to $600,000. Total compensation for fee-for-service billings vary by individual practitioner, and the compensation shown reflects the average range of wages for this specialty as reported by Alberta Health. Multiple Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Compensation Programs, including the Rural Remote Northern Program (RRNP), which provides a variable fee premium for COMMUNITY of 20.9%.
