Description: Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Family Medicine, Hospital Care Team (HCT) – University of Alberta Hospital (UAH). This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Section Lead (CCSL), Hospital Medicine, to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Family Medicine and to the Hospital Medical Director (HMD), UAH. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available. The CCDHL Family Medicine, HCT - UAH provides leadership in advancing AHS and Edmonton Corridor priorities. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and championing AHS initiatives at the UAH site - Supporting AHS wide quality initiatives and accreditation standards - Collaborating across University of Alberta sites to ensure alignment - Advancing the principles of the Edmonton Zone 2030 Plan - Participating in quality assurance activities under the AHS Quality Management Framework - Managing and communicating site specific information for the Department of Family Medicine annual report - Engaging site physicians to align with priorities set by the Corridor Clinical Section Lead for Inpatient Family Medicine and the Corridor Clinical Department Lead The position has an expected term of 3 years.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong abilities in communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation, along with a passion for quality and patient safety while working as part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant medical leadership experience and will be regarded by their peers as a strong clinician. Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
