The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a position within the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics. This position is a tenure track position and will be a full-time, 1.0 FTE with 60% clinical services and 40% academic duties negotiable. Position Description: The successful applicant will be offered a full-time position (1.0 FTE) with the University of Alberta and AHS and will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as long term care for children with rheumatic diseases. This position will comprise approximately 60% clinical service (including clinical teaching) and 40% academic pursuits: for example, teaching, research, and administrative duties for the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members. The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications: Interested applicants must have: * MD degree (or equivalent) * Completed residency training in Pediatrics * Completed subspecialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology * Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent * Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) * Hold appropriate liability insurance Considered an asset: * Additional clinical training beyond the pediatric rheumatology subspecialty residency (e.g. subspecialty fellowship) * Additional graduate level training (e.g. Masters, PhD) In addition, individuals must embody the values and qualities essential to our team culture: * Emotional Intelligence: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with patients, families, learners, and colleagues * Adaptability: A flexible and proactive approach to challenges in clinical, academic, and research environments * Leadership and Initiative: The ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate learners and team members, contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation Teamwork: A collegial and collaborative spirit that thrives in a multidisciplinary setting About Us The successful candidate will join the division of pediatric rheumatology at the University of Alberta. Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic Medicine & Health Services Program (AMHSP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and ranges based on a number of different factors with an annual mean of $349, 009.92.
