Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Rural Corridor, is actively recruiting a part-time Family Medicine Physician to provide Hospitalist and Low Risk Obstetrics in Camrose. Hospitalist (0.25 FTE) will provide Inpatient Care at St. Mary's Hospital & Care Centre. Weeks run Wed-Tue with handover on Tuesday night. After hour call and ER admissions after 5 will occur on either Wed/Sat/Tue, Thu/Sun or Fri/Mon. On intake you complete admissions from ER or direct admissions from community clinics and repatriations from RAAPID North. On site coverage from 07:30 - 17:30pm with intake calls occurring until 21:30. The Hospitalists also provide coverage for Code Blue. The Intake Hospitalist will also provide after-hours coverage for all teams to ensure the non-intake hospitalist has time to recover. Obstetrics (0.25 FTE) This physician will be joining the Low Risk Obstetrics Team. They will work in a shared care model through the PCN prenatal clinic and share on call responsibilities for the panel of Obstetric patients this group attends to. Responsibilities include but not limited to: - Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Camrose; - Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services; - Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Obstetrics & Emergency Medicine call schedule, as required; - Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies; - Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine; - Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; - Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned; - Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. Required Qualifications: - Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application); - Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required; - Fetal Health Surveillance - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); - Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (moreOB) / Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM) Desired Qualifications: - Certificate of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP); - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); - Preference given to those with recent rural experience; All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we thank all applicants for their interest; only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
